We visited the Smugglers Rest, Talland Bay, just a few miles from the Sail Loft Studio, Looe for an evening out with friends, it’s is our favourite place for casual dining out near Looe. Usually we walk en route to Polperro via The South West Coast Path and take a taxi back home, but last evening we were lucky to be driven there by our friends, the table was pre booked and as ever there were specials to tempt us, the barbeque food is full of flavour, plentiful and theres a great choice, its a very casual relaxed venue, reasonably priced and with views to die for. Watch the sun go down, causing a spectrum of colours in the sky, from orange, turquoise and soft mauves across a calm sea to moonlit darkness and scintillations twinkling on the water. Its a magical place, worth the trip and its open all day in the holiday season, serving breakfasts, snacks, cream teas, etc, take cash and its advisable to book for the evening barbecue. The servers are super friendly, so helpful and good fun, Its a family run business, it deserves its success and long may it continue to thrive.
