Brown Willy, the highest peak in Cornwall

On a breezy day with a little cloud,  we headed up to Camelford, about 35 miles away to the north of The Sail Loft Studio, Looe for a walk around Showery Tor and Rough Tor and  Brown Willy, the highest peak in Cornwall, the car park is at Poldue Downs and the walk is about 5 miles in length. Fabulous rock formations on Showery Tor allow for dramatic photo opportunities and the view from Brown Willy shown in the video is spectacular. P1030800

The terrain is not strenuous but can be a little soggy in wet weather, so boots on before you leave the carpark! There are cattle and horses roaming free and raptors and ravens fly high above the peaks.

Details of the walk can be found at iWalk Cornwall and it is well worth the effort to take a picnic, or start early and perhaps have lunch at the St Tudy Inn, in St Tudy a short way off the A39 en route to Wadebridge, Bodmin and Looe.
